Two persons, a man aged 85 and a woman aged 70, were injured in separate falls in their residence last night, the police said today.

The first accident took place just before midnight in Xarretta Street, Santa Venera. The 85-year-old man fell a height of one story after collapsing. The man was taken to hospital and for a time he was in critical condition. He is now no longer critical, the police said.

At 3.20am, the 70-year-old woman was injured after she fell from a window in her residence in Migbha Street, Mellieha. The woman was taken to hospital.
