Some 35 inmates required medical attention in an episode of food poisoning at the Correctional Facility of Kordin, The Malta Independent has learnt.
Informed sources told this newsroom that the episode started on Wednesday and a number of nurses were sent to the prison to give the required treatment to the inmates.
Prisons' CEO Simon Buttigieg confirmed with this newsroom later today that 35 inmates fell ill and are receiving treatment.
The condition of the inmates is not known.
