The medical assistance offered by Labour MP Deo Debattista, a doctor by profession, to an American passenger on the flight between New York and Munich enabled the flight to proceed to its destination, a statement from the Office of the Speaker said today.
If such assistance was not given, the flight would have had to stop in Greenland, the statement said.
Dr Debattista was the only doctor on board. He was part of the Maltese parliamentary delegation who had earlier accompanied the Speaker, Anglu Farrugia, on a trip to New York.
