Nearly €70 million was spent by the University of Malta during the 2014/2015 academic year

Total expenditure for the University of Malta during the 2014/2015 academic year amounted to €69,467,313, Education Minister Evarist Bartolo said in reply to a Parliamentary question.

The question was tabled by MP Anthony Agius Decelis.

€15 million was spent by the University on administration and overheads, and the most spent on a faculty was the Faculty of Arts (€5,523,816).

Over €8 million was spent on Junior College (included in the expenses). The Minister said that the costs exclude any projects financed through outside sources such as the EU.

Around €4 million was spent on the Faculty of Science, and around €5 million on the Faculty of Medicine and Surgery.

€3.7 million was spent on the Faculty of Heath Sciences, €3.5 million on the Faculty of Education, and €3.2 million on the Faculty of Engineering
