UNITED NATIONS-BRIBERY SCHEME-THE PRESIDENT

UNITED NATIONS — This is how a former president of the U.N. General Assembly, arrested this week in an alleged bribery scheme, paid himself, the criminal complaint says: John Ashe accepted more than $3 million in outside money, signed checks to himself and wrote on them "Salary." But no one's rushing to reform a job that's fertile ground for corruption.
