A court official says a Czech woman has been convicted of killing her three newborn babies and was sentenced to 24 years in prison.

Simona Tesarova, spokeswoman for the regional court in the city of Brno, says Anna Dusikova, 25, was convicted of killing one baby girl and two baby boys in 2012, 2013 and this year.

Acting on a tip from medical workers, police inspected her boyfriend's house in the southeastern village of Dolni Dunajovice in February, finding the dead body of the latest newborn as well the remains of the two others.

Dusikova, who pleaded guilty, still can appeal.
