Two men, a 21-year-old and an 18-year-old, where arrested shortly after less than €500 in cash were stolen from a gaming establishment.

The robbery took place on Wednesday night at about 9.40pm in Triq il-Kbira, Mosta, when a hooded man entered the shop, placed a bag on the counter and demanded money from a 52-year-old employee.

Investigators are also not ruling out the possibility that the robber was armed after he allegedly appeared to load an object before threatening to hurt the attendant if he did not give him enough money, the police said.

It was at about 12.15 am that two suspects were identified and arrested by the Rapid Intervention Unit following investigations by the Mosta District Police.

Investigations are however still under way while several experts have also been appointed to assist with a magisterial inquiry.
