‘AFM soldiers left hungry as dignitaries eat more and more’ – Marlene Farrugia

Armed Forces of Malta yesterday refused the food they were given at the AFM headquarters in protest because the sandwich they were given was dry, independent MP Marlene Farrugia wrote on Facebook.

She wrote that while dignitaries eat more and more, soldiers that are on stand-by for any emergencies are “being treated like rubbish”.

“We are eating poor breakfast, a sandwich and a fruit for lunch and a tasteless dinner. Is this the Joseph Muscat way”, one soldier told the independent MP.

“We have been here for three days and will remain here till Monday. Yesterday we refused the food in protest because the one sandwich we were given was dry”.
