Nationalist Party leader Simon Busuttil will be addressing a conference on the fight against diabetes in Vancouver, Canada.
The conference is organised by the Parliamentarians for Diabetes Global Network, of which Dr Busuttil is vice-president.
Some 32 million people in Europe are diabetic while millions more have the disease without knowing. In Malta it is estimated that 10 per cent of the population suffers from the condition.
The Maltese delegation also includes Nationalist MP Clyde Puli and the Labour Party’s whip Godfrey Farrugia, who is the chairman of the diabetes working group.
