A total of 112 residence permits were withdrawn by Identity Malta over the past 10 months, Minister Carmelo Abela told parliament tonight.
In reply to a question put by PN MP Carmelo Mifsud Bonnici, Mr Abela said Identity Malta revoked residence permits on a regular basis.
Mr Abela said the revocation of permits was a continuous exercise and that Identity Malta revokes residence permits on a regular basis when conditions on which the permit was issued are no longer applicable. A foreigner terminating their employment or studies, was given as an example. The minister also pointed out that no statistics were found of permits revoked under the previous administration.
