Parliamentary Secretary for the 2017 EU Presidency and EU funds Ian Borg today inaugurated a €200,000 photovoltaic installation project for the Daughters of the Sacred Heart schools, in particular Marija Tereza Nuzzo school in Marsa.

A number of renewable energy interventions are needed on a number of buildings belonging to the Daughters of the Sacred Heart schools in Fleur-de Lys, Zurrieq, Hamrun and Zejtun.

The total investment amounts to €200,000.

Dr Borg stressed the importance of raising awareness for the conservation of energy and also noted that investing in PV panels allows schools to reduce their bills.

He praised the students for their commitment towards the environment and also called on the administrative staff of other schools to make use of EU funds during the next financial period.
