The Floriana local council has expressed its disappointment that its request to meet the Cultural Patrimony Superintendence to discuss the Armed Forces of Malta Hay Wharf project has not been met.

The council said that it asked for a meeting several months ago but in spite of reminders, no appointment has been given.

In a statement, the council asked why it was not consulted before the project was started and why the superintendence did not object to it, given that the project is causing irreparable damage to the bastions.

It also asked why the council was being ignored.
