Malta had the third lowest unemployment rate in the European Union in November, according to the Eurostat figures, the government said today. Malta registered a 5.1% unemployment rate that month.
In the past legislature, the government said in a statement issued via the DOI, the rate was 6.5% on average, with the highest point reached in February 2010 at 7.2%.
This showed how wrong the Opposition Leader was when he said that unemployment would reach 7%, the Department of Information said.
