Migrant turns himself in after escaping detention centre 2 years ago, handed 6-month sentence

A Senegalese migrant who escaped from detention two years ago has been handed a six-month prison sentence after turning himself in to the police.
The 26-year-old man - Kausu Kanin – admitted escaping from the Safi detention centre in January 2014.
Magistrate Gabriella Vella presided and Inspector Victor Aquilina prosecuted.
