An earthquake that was registered south of Sicily this evening has been felt in parts of Malta.
The 4.1 Richter scale earthquake was felt at about 5.36pm, according to Italian news websites.
It happened further away than the 4.4 earthquake that shook the Maltese Islands last Wednesday, and its effect on Malta today was therefore limited when compared to the tremore felt four days ago.
Reports of the earthquake came most from the eastern coast of Malta, particularly Mellieha, St Paul’s Bay and Sliema.
