Two men have been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a gaming outlet yesterday evening.
The police received a report shortly after 11pm that two men, one of them carrying a firearm, had entered the outlet in Xatt ta’ Xbiex and ordered a 20-year-old employee to hand over the money.
At the time there were three clients in the premises. No one was hurt.
The robbers made off with a substantial amount of cash but they were identified and arrested a short while later by members of the Rapid Intervention Unit. The police said the men are being held for investigations.
Duty Magistrate Audrey Demicoli ordered an inquiry.
