Applications for care assistant courses reopen

Applications for Care Assistant courses to facilitate long-term care have opened this morning at St. Vincent de Paul. Parliamentary Secretary for the rights of persons with disabilities Justyne Caruana made the announcement while visiting a training course designed for new carers in the area of dementia.

Dr Caruana explained how this year, 3 new courses for care assistants for the elderly will be launched.

The course is split up into 15 weeks and will be include practical and theoretical learning. Dr Caruana said that this course will be taught in a professional way at the centre of excellence for elderly care training at St Vincent de Paul itself, using European funds. Those who wish to apply may do so until 5 February.
