While many young adults enjoy the Carnival festivities on our sister island of Gozo, parents are currently gearing up for the wide range of colourful and vibrant costumes for their children to show-off.

A number of costume suppliers were contacted by this newsroom to gauge which were the most sought after characters.

The majority of boys opted for popular console game character Assassin’s Creed, Iron Man, Batman and Superman.

Characters from the popular Disney film Frozen were yet again among the most popular choices for the girls. A range of various princesses such as Cinderella and Aurora were also wildly popular. Maleficent, another popular Disney character, has also been sold across Malta and Gozo.

Moreover, many costume suppliers revealed that ‘onesies,’ otherwise known as full-body jumpsuits, are not just popular among teenagers and 20-year-olds, as many children chose various animal-print styles for this year’s Carnival.

According to a number of weather-forecast websites, this weekend will offer sunshine but partly cloudy at times. There appears to be a slight chance of rain on Monday morning, however temperatures are expected to remain unseasonably warm.
