Minister for Energy and Health Konrad Mizzi today met with the Minister of Health of the UAE, Abdul Rahman Bin Al Mohammed, the Department of Information said.

The meeting, which was held along the sidelines of the World Government Summit in Dubai, covered the discussion on how to strengthen the cooperation between the two nations, particularly across health programmes and initiatives.

This includes facilitation of training programmes focused on early detection of diseases, exchange of doctors and sharing of their expertise, sending patients abroad for treatment and the further development of the pharmaceutical industry and specialized health and fitness apps for smart phones.

Medical tourism and the upcoming investment in the Maltese health sector were also discussed.

Minister Mizzi was accompanied by Principal Permanent Secretary Mario Cutajar and Permanent Secretary for the Office of the Prime Minister Joyce Dimech and MITA's Executive Chairman Tony Sultana.
