In August 2015, registered full-time employment increased by 4.5 per cent when compared to the corresponding month in 2014, while registered part-time employment as a primary job rose by 2.7 per cent, the NSO said today.

Administrative data provided by the ETC show that over a period of one year, the labour supply (excluding part-timers) increased by 3.2 per cent, reaching 177,262. In August, administrative and support service activities contributed mostly to the increase in employment, compared to August 2014. Registered full-time employment in the private sector went up by 7,028 persons to 127,955. Public sector fulltime employment increased by 316 persons to 44,393.

The number of persons registered as full-time self-employed rose by 691 when compared to August 2014, while the number of persons registered as employees increased by 6,653.
