Transport Minister Joe Mizzi inaugurated the €300,000 refurbishment of the Santa Liberata Church Parvis, Kalkara.

The parvis was in a bad state, he said, and the scope of the project was to provide an attractive and safe place for churchgoers.

 The parvis is also used by children who attend Catechism lessons, and the area's safety has been strengthened through the installation of CCTV cameras and traffic control measures.

Pavement works as well as the installation of traffic signs and bollards were part of the project.
