A proposed invocation

One way or another, Mr Guillaumier keeps you wondering how he astutely and subtly manages to steal the show even when, commenting about a local issue, he unleashes a veiled mockery about Our Lady and her favourite prayer.

But this time, at least, he inadvertently admitted that there is a God. It was a real surprise that an avowed atheist should do so. Once again I refer him to some liturgical education.

“In the cold of February let the Lord warm your heart with the fire of His love. Pray, in His temple (and anywhere – my words) that with the intensity of the fire of His love, your heart of stone melts and becomes of flesh – a heart that loves!” (Jum il-Mulej pamphlet)

“O Lord, take in your arms my weak body

“my muddled mind

“my soul without peace

“and grant me perpetual rest

“that simple and serene rest.
