Six Maltese organisations made the shortlist for the Top 110 businesses for the European Business Awards. Over 30,000 companies from 32 countries applied. Minister for the Economy, Investment and Small Business Dr Christian Cardona, paid tribute to the Maltese participants for their efforts in not only being contenders but for their contributions in advancing the Maltese economy in an event organized by RSM, recognizing the Maltese participants.

Minister Cardona highlighted how the country is currently recording rapid growth as certified most recently by Fitch and the European Commission’s Winter Economic Forecast. However this does mean that the country can rest on its laurels. Indeed the Government is committed to continue paving the way for local businesses to thrive with a long-term vision and sustainable goals. Thus, as the global landscape might change, challenges that might arise can be transformed into a landscape with many opportunities.

Minister Cardona acknowledged the tremendous entrepreneurial spirit in Malta, which is continuously proving itself through innovation and producing outstanding products. The organisations being celebrated today are indeed a showcase of what hard work, determination and innovation can give rise to.  Minister Cardona bode the contenders well not only for the upcoming competition but also in their undertaking in being leading economic players in the world’s free market.

Maltese businesses shortlisted include BRND WGN Co. LTD, AquaBioTech Group, B2B Gaming Services LTD, Medserv pls, OzoSystem Ltd and 2XSoftware (part of Parallels Group). The European Business Awards participants combined represent a business turnover of more than one trillion euro and employ nearly three million people.
