JMV announced as platinum sponsor of International Conference SBE 16

JM Vassallo Vibro Blocks have been unveiled as the platinum sponsor for the first international conference addressing a Sustainable Built Environment in Europe and the Mediterranean Region (SBE16) with a focus on different aspects of sustainability in the built environment. This is a topic that reflects JMV's advocacy of green building products and their leading position as a green supplier to the construction industry.

SBE16 is being held from March 16 to 18 at the Grand Hotel Excelsior. The local organizer is SBE Malta, the iiSBE Malta Chapter. The SBE 16 Malta Conference forms part of the SBE 16 World Series of Regional conferences, organised by iiSBE (International Initiaive ofr a Sustainable Built Environment), UNEP (United Nations Environmental Programme), FIDIC and CIB, in preparation to the SBE 17 Hong Kong World Congress.

SBE Malta iiSBE Malta Chapter is collaborating with the University of Malta, the Building Industry Consultative Council (BICC) and the Ministry for the Environment, Sustainable Development and Climate Change. The conference is attracting to Malta leading Euoropean and International academics and professionals in the field of sustainable construction, materials technology and energy efficiency and strategic planning.

The main results of the SBE16 Malta Conference will also be presented at the World Congress (WSBE) 2017 in Hong Kong. All papers accepted by the Scientific Committee through a blind peer review process and presented at the Conference will be published in a book of Proceedings and presented for indexing in international scientific databases.
Managing Director of JMV Raymond Vassallo said that the company had no hesitation in sponsoring this international event, "JMV has also been concerned about the environment and we have introduced a number of sustainability initiatives to the construction industry over the years. We are delighted to align with SBE16's objectives and we look forward to mixing with equally-motivated peers to discuss what we can do together to improve sustainability further in the industry."

Conference topics will include materials engineering for sustainable buildings, energy efficiency, urban regeneration, sustainable refurbishment, cultural heritage, renewable energy sources, intelligent buildings and education in sustainable construction. JMV's executive architect Andrew Psaila will be presenting the company's sustainability credentials outlining their development pathway, green manufacturing and eco-portfolio on Friday 18 as one of the speakers during the conference.
