Speaker of the House visits the Kerem Shalom crossing while on official trip to Israel

This morning Speaker of the House of Representatives Anġlu Farrugia, continued while on his official visit to Israel, visited the Kerem Shalom crossing.

A briefing was given to the Maltese delegation with regards to the daily activity at one of Israel's most secure check points, since all the goods being supplied to the people of Gaza (consisting of 850 trucks of supplies varying from agricultural goods to cooking fuel) pass from this Israeli check point. After the briefing, the Speaker and his delegation toured the premises. 

Afterwards, the delegation visited the Nazal Oz Israel army camp, which is one of the closest to the Gaza Strip. During the briefing, the spokesman briefed the delegation about the prevailing situation at the border.

Later the delegation visited the Moshav community, which is situated on the border of the Gaza strip.

The delegation led by Speaker Anġlu Farrugia is composed of MPs Michael Falzon and Silvio Parnis, accompanied by the Ambassador of Malta to Israel Cecilia Attard Pirotta and Israel’s Ambassador to Malta Oren David.
