An 18-year-old British national this morning was accused of drug possession.

Liam Anthony Smith appeared before Magistrate Consuelo Scerri Herrera charged with the possession of 4.6 grams of ecstasy pills.

The accused was in Malta for the Lost and Found party. The young man, who lives in Manchester, was residing in a hotel in Qawra and was bound to fly back to the UK today at 11:30am. 

He pleaded guilty for the charges brought against him. Magistrate Scerri Herrera ordered him to pay a €500 fine.

Police Inspector Maurice Curmi led the prosecution.

Till this day, more than 40 people were arrested by the police on drug-related issues following their attendance at the Lost and Found party which was held for the second time in Malta.
