A man has been caught cutting part of a nylon cord which forms part of a plastic curtain (hasira) hanging outside a home in Zebbug.

The full-length cord costs about €5, the owner of the house said, but the thief seemed to need only a small part of it, as he is seen in the footage cutting part of the cord and making off with it.

The man approached the house in question, seemingly aware of the CCTV camera, as he wore a hood and a cap, and kept his head low. He then proceeded to cut the length of cord he needed, tie a knot so as to keep the plastic curtain rolled, and then made up with his prize.
