The Labour Party has issued a call for nominations for its own deputy leadership.

This has been rendered necessary following the resignation of Dr Konrad Mizzi from his short tenure.

The nominations will be accepted between Monday and Tuesday, 9 and 10 May.

The election will be held a month later, on 9 and 10 June and, if need be, on 11 June.

An extraordinary general conference will be held between 9 and 11 June.

This was decided at a meeting of the party's national executive.
