A woman is in critical condition after the car she was in crashed into a concrete mixer truck in Siggiewi Road, Zebbug, this afternoon, the police said.

The police said the woman had to be released by members of the Civil Protection Department after the Toyota Vitz she was driving was involved in a collision with the Astra truck at 1.20pm. The truck was driven b y a 43-year-old Serb who lives in Siggiewi.

The 54-year-old woman, also of Siggiewi, was taken to hospital where she was found to be in critical condition.

A magisterial inquiry is under way. The police are investigating.
