A woman is in critical condition after she was hit by a bus at the terminus in Valletta this morning.

The 35-year-old of Mosta was taken to hospital where she was found to have suffered grievous injuries and is in critical condition.

The police have confirmed that the bus driver is a 30-year-old man from Marsascala. 

In a statement, Malta Public Transpirt said a bus earlier today wasinvolved in an accident in the Valletta Bus Terminus as a result of which a person was injured. The company is providing all the necessary support for the competent authorities to carry out their investigations. 

A magisterial inquiry is under way.
