Ira Losco made it to the final of the Eurovision Song Contest with her song Walk on Water.
There were some tense moments all over the country – and a collective holding of breath – as Malta was the 10th of the 10 countries to be named as having qualified.
The other nine qualifiers are Azerbaijan, Russia, The Netherlands, Hungary, Croatia, Austria, Armenia, Czech Republic and Cyprus.
Ira was the last to give her interpretation among the 18 contestants, and the last to make it, although it was specified that the names of the countries were made public in random order, and not according to the amount of votes they obtained.
The second semi-final will be held on Thursday, with the final on Saturday.
