A Safi 33-year-old man this evening suffered serious facial injuries in what appears to have been a gunshot accident.

The police later said that the man is in critical condition.

The shooting took place at about 7pm in a field close to Hal Far.

The man was taken to hospital in an ambulance.

It is believed that no other persons were involved.
