Police search for two Libyans in connection with death of Colombian

Zyad Mohamed Drebeka and Ahmed Rasem Franko, both Libyan nationals aged 23 and 29 years respectively, are wanted by the Police in connection with the death of a Colombian national following an argument on 19 May 2016, in St Julian’s.

The police said in a statement on its Facebook page that anyone with any information should contact the Police, even in confidence on the following numbers, 119 / 21224001 (Headquarters) or 22942435 / 22943401 (St Julian’s Police Station).

The Colombian, Carlos Augusto, aged 37 and resident in Swieqi, suffered grievous injuries following an argument in St Julian’s last week. He taken to hospital in critical condition on Thursday following what the police said was an argument with two other men.

The incident happened this morning outside an apartment in St George’s Road, St Julian’s. 

The Colombia died following injuries sustained to the head. The two Libyans are known to visit Paceville on a regular basis.

Franko, 29, has a pending court case involving an attemoted rape of a Swedish woman in January.

The Colombian died on Saturday.
