Sinisa Mihajlovic has signed a two-year contract to coach Torino following the departure of Giampiero Ventura.

Mihajlovic was fired by AC Milan last month.

Ventura is the leading candidate to coach Italy's national team once Antonio Conte leaves for Chelsea after the European Championship.

The 68-year-old Ventura coached Torino the past five seasons, securing promotion from Serie B in his first year and guiding the club to two top-10 finishes in Serie A before this season's 12th-place finish.

The 47-year-old Mihajlovic has also coached Bologna, Catania, Fiorentina, Sampdoria and Serbia's national team.
