An 86-year-old woman was bound to a handrail by a robber who entered her home in Mosta this morning, the police said.

The robbery took place at 10am in Main Street.

A man entered the residence and bound the woman to the handrail, demanding money. He then made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.

The woman was unhurt.

The police are investigating.
