Health Minister Chris Fearne addresses world health assembly

Health Minister Chris Fearne said that after CHOGM, which took place in Malta last November, all Ministers for Health within the Commonwealth of nations have committed themselves to promoting healthy habits and a better quality of life. He said this during the World Health Assembly in Geneva.

Minister Fearne addressed the assembly in the name of 53 Commonwealth Ministers for Health – in view of the fact that Malta is currently the chairperson of the Commonwealth. Mr Fearne said that among the top priorities are extreme violence, climate change and migration.

“Health safety is an important step towards global peace and stability, the health sector has an important role to play in order to strengthen global safety – such as disaster response preparations,” Mr Fearne said
