Representatives of the Medical Association of Malta (MAM) and the Health Department met to discuss issues regarding the primary care service, a joint statement by both sides said today.

Significant progress was registered in the discussions. MAM will be presenting the government's proposals to its members in the coming days, the statement concluded.

MAM had registered an industrial dispute earlier this week to complain about the “deterioration” of services in health centres.
