Some colorectal screening tests will have to be redone after discrepancies were noted between the barcodes on the invitations and those on the testing kits, the Health Ministry has told Newsbook.
The news portal said calls for colorectal screening were also temporarily suspended. A ministry spokesperson said procedures related to the method of sending out invitations will also be revised. The system review is expected to take a few days.
The Screening Unit, the spokesperson said, had immediately become aware of the barcode discrepancies and all patients involved were given another invitation. Newsbook said people in cases where there were discrepancies were not given the test results.
