An elderly British woman, aged 89, was assaulted and robbed inside her home by a hooded man who stole the gold items she was wearing.

The theft took place at Triq L-Imriekeb in Marsascala at around 12.30pm.

The woman was injured in the theft and was taken to Mater Dei Hospital for further examination.
