Twenty-three people were arrested over the weekend by the police drug squad in raids in various localities, the police said in a statement.

Their ages vary between 17 and 45, and are of different nationalities. They are being investigated for drug possessions, aggravated drug possession and illicit trafficking of substances including ecstasy, cocaine, cannabis and cannabis resin.

Two of the people arrested are still in custody as circumstances indicated that the drug in their possession was not for personal use, the police said.
