Minister refuses to divulge cost, but says Eurovision participation cost 'much less' than €2 million

Tuesday, 31 May 2016, 19:25 Last update: about 9 years ago

Culture Minister Owen Bonnici denied claims that Malta's participation in the Eurovision Song Contest in Sweden cost €2 million.

The Minister, asked by opposition MP Clyde Puli, refused to divulge the amount, citing 'commercial reasons', but said that it cost much less than that, and that all expenditure was covered by advertising revenue. The PN MP asked whether the 120% increase in advertising budget was covered by money brought in through advertising revenue.
