Environment Minister Jose Herrera and Parliamentary Secretary for Animal Rights Jose Herrera attended activities for World environment day today.

Minister Herera said that Malta has 34 Natura 2000 sites, which incorporate around 13.5% of all land in Malta and Gozo. He said that the ERA has just concluded drafting the management plans for these sites. He announced that in the coming weeks,these plans will be launched and will begin to be implemented. 

Parliamentary Secretary Roderick Galdes spoke about government's zero tolerance policy when it comes to illegal wildlife commerce.
