Malta Public Transport announced today that Summer Services commence on 12 June 2016, with more frequent buses on busy routes and an extended bus service to popular beaches.
Tallinja card holders will continue to enjoy the same reduced fares throughout the year, while tickets purchased on the bus are at €2 during summer.
The frequency of buses will be increasing, with 300 more trips per day, on the following routes:
Route 212 - Sliema - Buġibba
Route 221 - Ċirkewwa - Buġibba
Route 222 - Sliema – Ċirkewwa
Route 223 - Buġibba – Għajn Tuffieħa
Route 225 - Sliema – Għajn Tuffieħa
Route 31 - Valletta – Buġibba
Route 310 - Victoria – Marsalforn
Route 311 - Victoria – Dwejra
Route 322 - Marsalforn – Mġarr Ferry
During summer, the bus service is being extended to these popular beaches: Armier, Blue Grotto, Ġnejna Bay, Popeye Village and Għar Lapsi.
The bus fleet is also being increased in the coming weeks, and customers can travel in one of the 33 new buses that have been specifically designed for Maltese roads and can carry more people. The new buses are air-conditioned, fully accessible and environmentally-friendly, the company said.
