As part of the reforms within the police force, Home Affairs Minister Carmelo Abela has asked the Chairperson for the Social Affairs Parliamentary Committee Anthony Agius Decelis to discuss the general strategy for the police corps within the Committee.

In a letter sent, it was indicated that this document will be a strategic document and will be considered "high level". As such, there will not be any details as the work on this strategy is still ongoing. The thought behind a discussion at this stage is for it to focus on the principle points and a proactive strategy, a statement read.

Minister Abela asked for the results of a questionnaire which was sent to members of the police corps to be presented. This had occurred as part of the consultation process with the aim of the reform being one for the police, by the police.
