The 10^th Edition of the Isle of MTV Malta will be held at The Granaries, Floriana on the 28^th June 2016 from 18:00 hrs to 00:00 hrs with gates opening at 15:00 hrs.  The free live music concert will this year feature the British singer-songwriter and Grammy award winner Jess Glynne, multi-platinum selling rapper Wiz Khalifa, the UK ground breaking electronic group Clean Bandit and electro-house, superstar DJ, Steve Aoki who will be closing this year’s Isle of MTV Malta 10th anniversary celebrations.

Although the area will be gated, no tickets or pre-bookings will be required in order to attend.    All visitors are subjected to a bag search before entering the concert (list of prohibited items follow below). In order to ensure a fast and smooth flow to the concert area, visitors are kindly required to minimize the amount of items carried. There is no age restriction within the square; however areas selling alcohol, including VIP areas, will have a strict +17 policy. VIP tickets are by invitation only and are unavailable for purchase.

·         Glass bottles (including perfume bottles);

·         Alcohol (if under the age of 17);

·         Weapons (including pointed instruments, screw drivers, syringes, scissors, etc.);

·         Illegal Substances;

·         Drones;

·         Fireworks;

·         Professional audio / visual recording equipment;

·         Flags on poles;

·         Laser pens

 

Getting to the concert

Public Transport

It is advisable to use public transport where possible to avoid heavy congestion before and after the event.

·         A special bus service on the night between the 28^th and 29^th June will be at a fee of €3.00 if purchasing ticket on the bus or €2.50 if using Tallinja card;

·         Public Transport will proceed through St. Anne`s Street, instead of Triq Sarria.

By car

·         Drop off / pick up point – Notre Dame Ditch (left turning with Porte Des Bombes)

 

If you are coming to the concert by car, please be aware of the following road closures / traffic diversions on the day of the concert:

 

·         From 17:00 hrs onwards – no vehicular traffic allowed to proceed to St Anne`s Street from Porte De Bombs, except for Public Transport and Blue Badge Holders. Diversion to underneath the Blata il-Bajda underpass to Valletta Waterfront through il-Menqa;

 

·         From 17:00 hrs onwards  - all vehicular traffic, except Public Transport and Blue Badge Holders, coming from Triq Dicembru 13, Marsa are to proceed through the underpass leading to il-Menqa and Valletta Waterfront;

 

·         From 17:00 hrs onwards  - all vehicular traffic, except Public Transport and Blue Badge Holders, coming from Hamrun will proceed round the Spencer Monument in Blat ail-Bajda to il-Menqa and through Valletta Waterfront;

 

·         Outbound traffic from Great Siege Road, Valletta to be directed to Belt is-Sebh, direction of Sa Maison Hill. Outbound traffic from Valletta Lascaris Wharf to proceed to Valletta Waterfront;

 

·         Great Siege Road (from the Ministry of Education building up to the War Memorial roundabout, The Mall, Triq Sarria and King Edward Road will be closed for vehicular traffic;

 

·         Traffic in Sa Mason Hill will be in one direction only;

 

·         Except for Scheduled Public Transport, taxies and Holders of Blue Badge will be permitted to proceed through the Valletta Bus Terminus area after 17:00 hrs;

 

·         Access to Floriana Health Centre is through Valletta Waterfront and Crucifix Wharf.
