Leo Brincat's hearing before the European Parliament has been postponed, a spokesperson for the European Parliament's  Office in Malta has confirmed.

The grilling in connection with Dr Brincat's nomination for the European Court of Auditors was set to take place on Monday. However, all hearings were postponed in the wake of the UK's vote to leave the European Union.

A new date for the hearing has not yet been announced.

Prime Minister Joseph Muscat has nominated Leo Brincat to occupy a post at the European Court of Auditors. This nomination came into effect after Toni Abela failed to go through the Parliamentary Committee grilling.
