Saudi Arabia, Malta sign agreement to promote cooperation in maritime transport

Minister for Transport Sulaiman bin Abdullah Al-Hamdan and Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Joe Mizzi signed an agreement between the Saudi Arabian Government and the Maltese Government in the field of maritime transport which aims to promote cooperation in the field of maritime transport, the Department of Information said.

The agreement also seeks to promote the development of the movement of commercial vessels passing between the two countries and to facilitate the transport of goods and people, as well as the economic and trade relations between the two parties. Moreover, it seeks to achieve better coordination of the commercial marine traffic between the two countries, the development of technical and training cooperation, and information exchange in the field of maritime transport, as well as coordinating the positions of the two countries in international organisations and forums related to maritime transport.

Minister for Transport and Infrastructure Joe Mizzi and the Maltese Ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Martin Valentino had cordial talks and discussed the aspects of the areas of cooperation in issues of mutual interest between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Malta in the field of transport. The meeting was attended by the Under-Secretary of the Ministry for Planning Faisal bin Ali Zabin and the Deputy Minister for Transport Munther Bin Nasser Al-Rashid.

His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Bandar bin Abdul Aziz, Emir/Governor of Riyadh region, received Minister Joe Mizzi and his accompanying delegation.
