Watch: Police force to hold several activities as it celebrates 202nd anniversary

The Police Force will be holding several activities as it marks its 202nd anniversary.

Mass will be held at the Addolorata Chapel tomorrow at 9am, followed by wreath laying at the police force grave.

A parade will be held along Republic Street in Valletta on Monday at 10am. This will be followed by displays by the Precision Drill Team and the K9 Section in Freedom Square, where a number of old and modern police vehicles will be on show. Children will be allowed to ride on police horses and motorcycles.

An exhibition of police uniforms and equipment will open on the same day at the Parliament building. A documentary about the history of the police force will be shown there.

The band, drill team and dog section will also be taking part in a number of activities in several localities between 5 and 13 July. The dates are as follows:

 

Birzebbuga, Misrah is-Summit, on 5 July

Marsascala, Pjazza Mifsud Bonnici, on 7 July

Sliema, Triq it-Torri, on 8 July

Bugibba, Misrah il-Bajja, pn 9 July

Marsalforn Gozo, Menqa, on 13 July

 

All activities held in Malta will start at 8.30pm while the activity in Gozo starts at 7.30pm. Members of the police cavalry and the traffic section will also be attending.

The main event will take place on Tuesday 12 July, which is Police Day.

A parade and guard of honour will be held in front of St John’s Co-Cathedral at 8.30am. The President and the Prime Minister will attend. The celebration ends with mass at St John’s.
