Nisa Laburisti notes that the percentage of IVF deliveries in Malta in 2015 stood at 18.9%. The EU avergae stood at 30%. This means that Malta is almost 1/3 below the EU average.

Claudette Abela Baldacchino President of NL - Nisa Laburisti said that NL retariates its appeal to the government for a change to IVF laws to reflect and address realities which until now have been ignored.

"Our appeal is fo the government to move forward and embrace recommendations that has been submitted to the Inter-Ministerial IVF Review Working Committee set up and made up of professionals from the Ministry of Energy and Health, the Ministry for Social Dialogue, Consumer Affairs and Civil Liberties and the Ministry for Justice, Culture and Local Government." said Abela Baldacchino.

Last year Nisa Laburisti was amongst a number of stakeholders who had submitted  recommendations to the Inter-Ministerial Committee.

Amongst the recommendations submitted by NL - Nisa Laburisti were; the need for embryo freezing together with the availability of anonymous egg and sperm donation (‎including the possibility of exchange of such with foreign banks). NL looks forward for a change in laws for a successful journey to those who need it.
