An elderly man was grievously injured after he was hit by a motorcycle in Hamrun this morning, the police said.

The 72-year-old, of Marsa, was hit by a motorbike driven by a 25-year-old of Qormi.

He was taken to hospital where he was found to have suffered grievous injuries.

The police are investigating.
